En 1855 el Gran Jefe Indio Noah Sealth, de las tribus Duwamish y Suquamish, en el estado norteamericano de Washington, escribió al Gran Jefe Blanco Franklin Pierce, presidente de los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica, el más conmovedor mensaje de amor y respeto a la madre Naturaleza. Hoy, 160 años después, su vigencia incontestable permanece mirándonos directamente al corazón. En Gijón, la celebración del Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente de 2015 es en tu honor, Gran Jefe Seattle.
In 1855 the Great Indian Chief Noah Sealth, chief of the Duwamish and Suquamish native americans, in the US state of Washington, wrote to the Great White Chief Franklin Pierce, president of the United States, the most poignant message of love and respect for mother nature. Today, 160 years later, his words preserve their incontestable validity staring directly into our hearts.
